noyou - The Perfect Little Vision
Sunderlands most underrated band (a fact)! The underlying synth lines and electro drum samples make this indie-pop tune explode. A band matching pop synths with an underlying rock sound perfectly, big choruses and well crafted melodies are what noyou are all about.
Luna Blue - Away With You
Brighton’s fast risers Luna Blue are back with their new up-beat indie-pop/rock track emitting happy summer vibes throughout. A driving rhythm section allows for fast off-beat guitar rhythms and busy baking vocals to flourish. Definitely a band I’ll be keeping my eye on to see how they’re developing, bringing them to the North-East is a priority.
Sophia - Favourite Day
Screaming ultra-happy and upbeat pop vibes this new single from Sophia really does make you reminisce about better times. Light verby guitar tones sit perfectly beneath Sophia’s dreamy vocal lines, I’m excited to see what more she has to offer, especially when it comes to live shows.
Dan Crook - Stop The Press
Multi-instrumentalist ‘Dan Crook’ provides aggressive and political lyrical content in an attack against the mainstream western media. The act claims Jamie-T as a major influence, a sound I truly love with the catchy hooks and intriguing rhythms it screams class. This track is relevant now more than ever, after a two year hiatus I truly hope this isn’t the last I hear of Dan Crook this year.
Wax Heart Sodality - Incel-dumb Scene Kid
Covering the issue of trying to understand the concept of ‘incel’ the deeply informative and meaningful lyrics are balanced out with a track which musically feels fairly upbeat and happy despite the very dark undertones obvious within the track. Wax Heart Sodality combine the political and relevant vocal lines with a powerful and gothic sound that makes you want to listen again and again.
