Track Review: Charlie Grant - Whatever Your Heart Desires

Charlie Grant is a singer-songwriter based in Berlin, originally hailing from the UK. Starting off as a freelance songwriter, his ambition has lead him to releasing his own music, beginning with his 'Chemistry EP' in 2016. As well as his solo career, Charlie is pursuing other successful ensembles.

In this expertly crafted track, 'Whatever Your Heart Desires', Charlie poetically explores the belief that anything is possible and the idea of daring to question your inner demons. The lush, periodic harmonies from Claire-Ann Varley (from the group Varley) create a beautiful texture that complement Charlie's vocal - and the whole song - immaculately.

In this stripped back expression, Charlie manages to combine both folk and indie elements in a diverse, distinctive and original way. Recorded with producer Joschka Bender (also from Varley), the production is second to none, with crisp vocals and ambient, atmospheric sections all the while maintaining a dynamic throughout.

On top of his solo work, Charlie also is a part of the band 'More Than Ruins' as well as being one half of 'Spirit Animal Kollektiv'.
